I’m still young but I’ve been writing for so long (poetry since 2006) that I can already say to those younger than me that they are never gonna be 100% satisfied with everything they write. that no matter your age you are gonna write shit once every full moon or so, and that’s okay, as long as you keep on writing and working on what you do instead of just complaining it’s not good enough. you keep on writing and get to know yourself and what kind of patterns you follow, how they change, how they can be changed… what linguistic resources you can use, and how and why you use them. the very ones we learn about in literature class. you write with honesty, you read, you think of how you wanna build your text, you experiment. and you are patient with yourself. that’s how one’s writing improves.
